The metal frame and glass shelving keep Lobel open rather than wall-like. It can hold a useful amount without turning the wall into a heavy block of storage.
Lobel works best on a long wall or as a light divider where you want storage without a solid visual block. Leave some negative space on the shelves; filling every bay would fight the architecture of the piece.
Lobel looks better when it is not packed edge to edge. Books can do most of the work; a few objects and some empty space will keep the open structure visible.
Texture and proportion are enough; ornament is not needed.
